Dual-output miniDIPs simplify DC/DC portable power

Stoughton, Mass.—The dual-output G100E family of miniaturized DC/DC converters from MicroPower Direct delivers 1 watt for a wide variety of board level applications in which space is limited. As part of the company's "Budget Saver" series of products, the converters are designed to be cost-effective for process/machine control systems, board level data-acquisition systems, portable/battery-backed equipment, robotic systems, and board level power distribution subsystems.

Offered in a "miniDIP" package measuring 0.8-by-0.4-by 0.25 inches, the G100E products, in twenty-four standard models operating from a 5-, 12-, or 24-VDC input, provide single and dual outputs of 5, 9, 12, 15, and ±5, ±9, ±12, and ±15 VDC. Standard features include maximum ripple and noise of 75 mV p-p, input/output isolation of 1 kVDC, and operating efficiency to 81 percent. MTBF is greater than 1 million hours (as measured per MIL HDBK 217F). The converters are rated for operation over -40 to +85°C (ambient) with no derating or heat sinking required. Cooling is by free-air convection.

The product datasheet is available at www.micropowerdirect.com/PDF%20Files/Datasheets/G100E-Datasheet.pdf. These converters are priced at $2.60 each in 100s.
